Bhubaneswar, Nov 16 (Reporter) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday left for Singapore on a four-day visit to invite top industrial leaders to contribute to building a developed Odisha.
Before departing for Singapore, Majhi told reporters at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPAI) that this is the first Investors' Meet outside India, and he is confident of its success.
The Chief Minister stated, "With the blessings of Lord Jagannath and the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji, I am leading a senior delegation to Singapore today."
“I hope that when investors from around the world think of investing in India, Odisha will be their first choice,” he remarked.
Majhi further emphasized that his message in Singapore will be clear: Odisha is fully ready to do business and is poised to emerge as a significant player in India's development story.
He highlighted that Singapore is renowned for its advanced industrial environment. The world’s largest companies operate there in sectors such as chemicals, petrochemicals, green energy, logistics, shipbuilding, financial services, electronics and semiconductors, food processing, and apparel.
“We will engage with the top leaders of these companies,” he said, “and inform them about Odisha’s abundant natural resources, skilled human resources, and progressive industrial policies.”
The Chief Minister underscored that he is leading this foreign tour on behalf of the 4.5 crore people of Odisha to invite global industrial leaders to invest heavily in the state, thereby fostering development and creating a large number of employment opportunities.
“We will visit world-class companies such as Tuas Port, Jurong Petrochemicals Complex, and ITEES Singapore to understand their advanced systems and explore ways to implement similar or better systems in Odisha,” he added.
Majhi also plans to meet members of the Odia diaspora in Singapore and neighboring ASEAN countries to engage with them, gather their views, and strengthen connections with Odisha.
He expressed hope that the visit would open up significant investment opportunities in Odisha, particularly in sectors like textiles, chemicals, green energy, logistics, shipbuilding, and electronics, ultimately generating extensive employment opportunities for the youth of Odisha...////...
