Bhubaneswar, Mar 26 (Reporter) The Odisha government has allocated Rs 50 crore for the successful implementation of the Chief Minister's Kendupatra Tolali Yojana through the Chief Minister's Kendupatra Kalyan Panthi in the financial year 2024-25, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi informed the State Assembly on Wednesday.
Making a statement in the Odisha Assembly on the measures taken by the State Government under the Mukhyamantri Kendupatra Tolali Yojana for the welfare of Kendu leaf pluckers, Majhi said the government has announced a provision of Rs.52.63 crore as benefits at a rate of 25 per cent for 8,59,449 Kendu leaf pluckers for the 2024 Kendu leaf crop year.
He stated that out of the 8,59,449 Kendu leaf pluckers in the state, 83.92 percent are women.
Similarly, Majhi announced that the government has allocated Rs.1.94 crore as an incentive at a rate of 5percent for 20,502 Kendu leaf Bandhei workers and Rs.4.99 crore as an incentive at a rate of 5 percent for 16,754 temporary Kendu leaf employees.
He further mentioned that the benefits are being directly transferred to the beneficiaries' bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT)...////...
