Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav visited Kamla Nehru Zoological Museum this morning before the Council of Ministers meeting to be held in the city of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, Indore. He also gifted a male King Cobra here.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav released the male King Cobra, brought from Pilikula Biological Park of Karnataka, into the Snake Park. Indore is not the natural habitat of the King Cobra. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav appreciated the habitat created by the zoo management for the male King Cobra.

As per the directions of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, special facilities have been created in the zoo for breeding of the King Cobra for snake conservation and a better ecosystem. Until now, there was only a female King Cobra in the Zoological Museum; now, with the arrival of the male King Cobra, natural breeding will be possible, which will prove beneficial for the ecosystem.

The King Cobra is known for its length, venom, and unique behavior. It is the longest venomous snake in the world, whose length can be up to 18 feet. The King Cobra is considered one of the most intelligent snakes, as it changes its hunting strategy according to the situation. Female King Cobras are different from other snakes because they build nests and incubate the eggs.

King Cobras are beneficial for biodiversity and the ecosystem and are considered friends of farmers.
