The current weather—cold in the morning, extremely hot in the afternoon, and rainfall by evening—is a clear sign of climate change. Human actions are largely responsible for this disruption, especially the destruction of forests through deforestation. Nature has assigned a balanced four-month cycle for each season, but human greed and the relentless cutting of trees have disturbed this natural rhythm. In light of the changing climate, there is need for collective action, and to rejuvenate nature through widespread tree plantation.
Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel shared these thoughts on Sunday during a programme organized by the Gujarati Charan Samaj Nyas in village Lotandev, under Gram Panchayat Indarpur of Rajpur tehsil in Barwani district. He remarked that nature has given humanity an abundance, yet humans have only taken from it. He highlighted the deep connection between nature and human life, stating that even trees are aligned with the zodiac signs and constellations of individuals. Governor Shri Patel appealed to the public to take action, saying that if every person plants and nurtures just two trees during the rainy season, we can help control the effects of climate change. He warned that if deforestation continues unchecked, we will soon face acatastrophic climate crisis—one that humanity may be unable to endure.
