CJI opens new cubicles for SC advocates

New Delhi, July 11 (Reporter) Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud on Thursday inaugurated new cubicles for advocates and lockers, among other facilities, at the Supreme Court's Block-D in the Additional Building Complex. The newly-inaugurated 68 cubicles for advocates will provide them dedicated space to work and consult with clients. Additionally, the facilities feature lockers for personal storage. Cabins for Oath Commissioners, a consultation room, a stationery shop, a chemist shop, and a common waiting area for litigants and visitors. The waiting area has a seating capacity for approximately 50 people, ensuring comfort and convenience for those awaiting court proceedings. This development reflects the Supreme Court’s commitment to supporting the legal community and other stakeholders by creating a conducive environment for legal practice. The new facilities are expected to streamline daily operations and enhance the overall efficiency of legal professionals working at the Supreme Court. The CJI said, "All litigants or lawyers coming to the court must have a single point where they can file cases, obtain information about cases... So I hope this facility will enhance the quality of service which the Supreme Court renders to all the citizens of the country."
