New Delhi, Jan 11 (Reporter) Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sanjiv Khanna, accompanied by 25 other Supreme Court judges, will embark on a visit to Araku Valley in Andhra Pradesh on January 12.
The visit, organized as part of a special program, aims to showcase the region’s cultural heritage, natural beauty, and environmental significance.
The high-profile delegation’s itinerary includes visits to key attractions such as the Tribal Museum, Giri Grama Darshini, and the Borra Caves.
Ninth Additional Sessions Judge Chodavaram Ratna Kumar and Joint Collector Abhishek Goud recently conducted preparatory visits to the Tribal Museum to ensure all arrangements are in place.
The delegation will travel by train from Visakhapatnam, arriving at Araku Valley at 10:45 am. They are scheduled to explore the Tribal Museum and interact with members of the indigenous Adivasi community while sampling Araku’s renowned organic coffee. The itinerary also features visits to Borra Caves, a celebrated natural wonder, and the Katiki Waterfalls.
For security reasons, the Tribal Museum and Giri Grama Darshini will remain closed to the public and tourists on January 12 during the judicial team’s visit. Enhanced security measures are being implemented to ensure the safety of the dignitaries.
Nestled in the Eastern Ghats, Araku Valley is a picturesque hill station known for its lush greenery, rolling hills, and tranquil climate. The region is internationally recognized for its organic coffee plantations and vibrant tribal culture. Attractions such as Borra Caves, the Katiki Waterfalls, and the Tribal Museum highlight the unique natural and cultural treasures of the area.
