Bengaluru, July 22 (Reporter) On Monday, a Bengaluru court granted bail to Suraj Revanna, a JDS MLC, who was arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a fellow party member.
Judge Santhosh Gajanan Bhat of the special court approved Revanna's bail application, requiring him to post a personal bond of Rs 2 lakh along with two sureties.
The court imposed several conditions on his bail: Revanna must not threaten witnesses or the complainant, must not tamper with evidence, must cooperate with the police investigation, and must appear before the investigating officer twice on the second Sunday of every month.
Additionally, Revanna was ordered to submit his passport to the court.
The case against Revanna was registered by the Holenarasipura rural police in Hassan district, in June, under Sections 377, 342, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), based on the victim's complaint. Before filing the police complaint, the victim, also a JDS worker, had approached the home minister and the DGP.
Revanna was arrested and placed in judicial custody on July 3. Advocate G Arun represented Suraj Revanna in court...////...
