Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the health of women and children is our highest priority. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, we are moving forward in the direction of improving their health and nutrition. Changes are now visible as a result of government efforts. Efforts are being made in mission mode in Madhya Pradesh to improve child nutrition. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing representatives of UNICEF India on Friday.
UNICEF India Chief Ms. Cynthia McCaffrey paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Dr. Yadav at the Chief Minister's residence. She praised the able leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav for focusing on women and children of Madhya Pradesh, the Devi Ahilya Women Empowerment Mission, cash assistance for adolescents under MHM, implementing the national CMAM guidelines, and addressing malnutrition.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state government is very alert and committed to the health of its children. The benefits of government child nutrition improvement schemes are reaching every eligible child. He said that we are rapidly advancing in the direction of ensuring the reach of our government's schemes to every person in need in the state. At every level, it is being ensured that everyone receives the benefits of government schemes.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that more efforts are being made in the state to eliminate malnutrition among children. The government is working in mission mode to provide additional support to such children and to reach children suffering from severe acute malnutrition. He said that to tackle the challenge of child malnutrition in the state, the Department of Women and Child Development is being joined by the departments of Health, Education, and Rural Development.
