On the third day of his visit to Spain, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav toured the ‘Fira de Barcelona – Montjuïc’ fair located in Barcelona. This fair is one of Europe’s major exhibition and trade fairs. Established in 1932, this center is situated in Barcelona’s historic Montjuïc area, which is considered highly significant from both cultural and architectural perspectives.
The main objective of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav’s visit was to observe Spain’s smart city model, environmental management, urban mobility, and innovation systems firsthand, with the aim of accelerating development in these areas in Madhya Pradesh. Discussions were also held on the possibility of establishing international-level investment summits and a permanent exhibition center in Madhya Pradesh with the collaboration of institutions like ‘Fira de Barcelona’.
The Fira de Barcelona complex is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and hosts more than 150 international events annually, covering key sectors such as industry, technology, innovation, tourism, and urban development. Spanning an area of approximately 165,000 square meters, this exhibition venue successfully hosts global events such as the ‘Smart City Expo World Congress,’ the ‘Mobile World Congress,’ the ‘Alimentaria Food and Beverage Trade Fair,’ and the ‘Internet of Things Solutions World Congress’.
