Prayagraj, Mar 29 (Reporter) A 51-year old Chief Work Engineer of the Indian Air Force (IAF) was shot dead by an unidentified person at his residence in the Central Air Command Complex in Puramufti area of Prayagraj district here in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, a police officer said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (City) Abhishek Bharti said that the chief work engineer Satya Narayan Mishra was shot dead in the Engineer Colony inside the Air Force Station in Bamrauli area. He said that after getting the information police officers along with SOG, forensic and surveillance teams have reached the spot and evidence is being collected.
He said that CCTV cameras installed inside and outside the parameters around the Air Force are also being checked. "Along with this, the security arrangements made for the Air Force boundary are also being investigated and evidence is being collected.
The DCP said that a person is seen coming inside the boundary in the CCTV camera footage.
Police sources said that when Chief Work Engineer Satya Narayan Mishra was at his residence an unidentified youth reached the spot and shot him from the window. "Hearing the sound of firing, his wife and son reached his room and were shocked to see him soaked in blood. Air Force Police reached the spot and then the Chief Work Engineer was taken to the hospital, where the doctors declared him dead. The reason of the murder is not known yet," they said.
Police sources said that Mishra was a native of Sasaram in Bihar. A report has been lodged and the police are investigating the case," they said...////...
