Bengaluru, July 27 (Reporter) ICSI President CS B Narasimhan announced that the Central Government will soon amend the Companies Act, based on comprehensive reports submitted by ICSI to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
These reports detail necessary amendments across various sectors and propose changes to existing rules.
Narasimhan made these remarks while addressing at the inauguration of the two day 48th Southern India Regional Conference, themed "Apt to Adapt - Redefining the Role of Company Secretaries.
The event was organised by Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI).
During the conference, CA Venkataraman Narayanan, Managing Director of Happiest Minds Technologies Limited, emphasized that success is achieved by efficiently handling professional challenges and continuously improving knowledge.
He highlighted the necessity of a broader perspective and the ability to adapt to changes to keep pace with the growing corporate sector.
Narayanan cited Happiest Minds Technologies' pioneering role in remote IPOs during the COVID-19 pandemic, which later became a model for other companies.
"The corporate sector is poised for significant growth, and Company Secretaries will play a crucial role in this evolution. Environmental and Social Governance is vital, with governance systems being a key component," Narayanan stated.
ICSI Bengaluru Chapter Chairman CS Venkata Subbarao Kalva stressed the crucial role of Company Secretaries in corporate governance and the importance of effective coordination between companies and stakeholders.
