New Delhi, Mar, 13 (Reporter) A Delhi court on Wednesday heard partial arguments from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on the charge against Congress leader Jagdish Tytler in a case related to the Pul Bangash killings during the 1984 Anti-Sikh riots after then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's assassination.
CBI Special Judge Rakesh Syal adjourned the matter on a prayer made by the counsel for Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) seeking some time for advancing remaining arguments on charge in rebuttal.
The court posted the case for hearing again on April 3.
Counsel for the accused moved an application for substitution of the earlier surety with Sh. Mubeen Ul Hasan and also furnished fresh bail bonds.
The court said, "Investigating Officer (IO) to verify the bail bonds and report on the next date of hearing".
Tytler appeared before the court during the proceedings through video conferencing (VC).
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Vidhi Gupta Anand sent the case to the District Judge on September 11 last year so the matter could be committed to a Sessions Judge by noting in the order that Tytler, a former Union Minister, was accused of murder (punishable under sections 302 of IPC), an offence "exclusively triable" by 'Courts of Sessions'.
Tytler had got bail with the certain conditions including he would not tamper with the evidence in the case or not leave the country without permission of the court.
