Nellore, AP, Mar 5 (Reporter) Minister for Municipal Administration, P Narayana, has made it clear that the Capital city will be constructed on 5,000 acres at a cost of Rs 64,000 crore. Talking to media here on Wednesday, the Minister said that tenders had already been invited for the works worth Rs 50,000 crore to be carried out in the capital city. He reiterated that the land for the construction of the capital city was acquired under land pooling scheme. The capital city would come up in 217 square kilometre radius and international standards would be maintained in its construction, he highlighted. “The burden of constructing the capital city will not be put on people," he assured. Minister Narayana asserted that the public money, collected through taxes, would not be spent for the construction of the capital city. Instead, the capital city would be constructed by taking loans from the HUDCO, the World Bank and ADB, he made it clear. The capital city would be self-financed and well planned, he revealed. He acknowledged that 1,000 to 1,200 acres are being allocated for the international institutions to establish international universities and schools in the capital city. He also announced that the excess land in the capital region would be sold only when the land value has gone steeply. There would be no irregularities in the construction of the capital city, he observed. He recalled that Rs 6,000 crore allocated in the budget for the construction of the capital city and if needed, more funds would be allocated for construction of the capital city...////...
