Shillong, May 7 (Reporter) Four Bangladeshi nationals in search of green pastures in India were arrested by Border Security Force (BSF) troopers in Meghalaya’s South West Garo Hills district, a BSF official said on Wednesday.
The intruders were arrested on Tuesday while they were attempting to illegally cross the India-Bangladesh border, the official said.
During the preliminary investigation, the four Bangladeshi nationals who are residents of Mymensingh, Gajipur and Nogaon dstricts sneaked inside India in search of job.
The BSF have handed over the arrested Bangladeshi nationals to Meghalaya Police for further legal action.
“These successful operations underscore BSF Meghalaya's unwavering commitment to national security and its relentless efforts to prevent illegal activities such as smuggling and infiltration,” the BSF official said, adding that the BSF remains steadfast in its duty to secure the international border and will continue to take stringent action against any unlawful activities.
