Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that the Ken-Betwa river linking project in Bundelkhand will help address water shortages for irrigation, industry, and drinking purposes. The central government is providing a 90% grant for the river linking project. Through this initiative, sufficient water resources will be managed for irrigation and industry. Madhya Pradesh is the leading state in the progress of the river linking project.

Chief Minister Dr Yadav addressed a press conference after the departmental review meeting at the convention centre in Khajuraho on Monday. He stated that the government is continuously working to promote tourism across Madhya Pradesh, including Bundelkhand. The inauguration of the Oberoi Hotel in Chhatarpur is part of this initiative. He added that, alongside tourism, several development projects are being undertaken in the mining and healthcare sectors in Bundelkhand. The Chief Minister said the government is preparing an action plan for the development and upliftment of Bundelkhand. He emphasised the need for sustained efforts to advance Bundelkhand. Important decisions will be taken to promote industry and tourism in the region. The government remains committed to promoting development across education, health, industry, tourism, and other key sectors in Bundelkhand.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav highlighted initiatives to promote education in Bundelkhand, including the construction of Rani Avantibai College in Sagar, funding support for Chhatrasal University, and the establishment of PM Excellence Colleges. Medical colleges will also be set up in the Bundelkhand region. He stated that the government is continuously working to ensure employment opportunities for every technically skilled student. The Chief Minister stated that, to bridge the gap between the government and the people, cabinet meetings for regional development will now be held in the respective areas themselves. The cabinet meeting organised in Khajuraho is an important step in this direction.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that the departmental review aimed to evaluate the work of the past two years and set targets for the next three years. He announced that Bhopal city will receive the metro rail gift on the 21st of this month. On the birth centenary of Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the foundation laying and inauguration of various projects worth nearly ₹2 lakh crore will be undertaken. The Chief Minister declared that 2026 will be dedicated to the development and upliftment of various agriculture-related sectors. Throughout the year, continuous efforts will be made to boost the agriculture sector through the establishment of agriculture-based industries, food processing units, and other agri-industrial activities, aimed at enhancing farmers’ income sources.
