Hamirpur (HP), May 28 (Reporter) Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Tuesday accused the centre's ruling BJP of trying to topple elected governments led by opposition parties and urged the people to vote for Congress so that Constitution and democracy can be saved.
Addressing a Nyay Sankalp Sabha in Hamirpur of Himachal Pradesh, Priyanka said Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the last ten years has created such a situation in the country that has mostly affected the youth, farmers and the poor.
Priyanka while appealing to the people said, "You elected an honest government in Himachal which is serving you. When the state was hit by disaster, BJP leaders were nowhere to be seen, but all our ministers and MLAs stood with you and helped you.
"Today BJP is trying to topple your elected government. I urge you to make Congress win on all the seats of Himachal Pradesh. Form the Congress government at the centre also so that we can do big things for the state," she said.
She said it has been the culture of Congress to work with full dedication for the people who have elected it and the Himachal government is practicing the same culture.
Without naming Anurag Thakur, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra attacked the Hamirpur Lok Sabha MP saying despite the MP being from BJP, the region has hardly seen any development.
She said, "We are working for you and this is our duty. We are working for politics or money. This is our duty. But the BJP on the other hand is using money power to topple this people-friendly and popular government. But I know the people of Himachal Pradesh will not let this happen and vote for the Congress".
She alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had waived off loans worth Rs 16 lakh crore of some select industrialists but the poor farmers are committing suicide as they are unable to repay their loans.
She assured the people of Hamirpur that the Congress party would always stand with them and fight for their rights and not allow anyone to change the Constitution of play with democracy...////...
