Ayodhya (UP), Nov 2 (Reporter) Senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and party MP from Gaziabad Awadhesh Prasad on Saturday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has politicised festivals. On not being invited to Deepotsav, the MP said that it is the mindset of the BJP that festivals have been politicised. "Only those who were given cards went to Deepotsav," he said. He stressed that there was no place for farmers and poor people in this Deepotsav. "Why I was not invited to Deepotsav is the mindset of the BJP and their ideology. Their mindset is that we all have been celebrating these festivals together for centuries. Many people were found saying that if you had gone to Deepotsav, only you would have been discussed, that is why I was not invited," he said. The SP MP from Faizabad said that our country is a country of farmers, but neither farmers nor poor people were invited. He said that the BJP has politicised these festivals. "This has weakened the thread of integrity and unity in diversity for the unity of the country," he said. He said that there is a Ganga-Jamuni culture in the country.
