BJP leaders arrive at Modi's residence ahead of swearing-in

New Delhi, June 9 (Reporter) After intense negotiations over allocation of ministerial berths and other issues, senior leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies on Sunday gathered for a Tea meeting at Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi’s residence ahead of the swearing-in ceremony scheduled in the evening. The presence of these leaders is widely seen as their confirmation in the new Council of Ministers. Among the senior BJP leaders who arrived at the PM's residence included Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh and JP Nadda. BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has won the Lok Sabha election 2024 and is forming the government at the centre under Prime Minister Narendra Modi who would hold the key position for the third time in a row. From the key NDA allies of Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Ram Mohan Naidu and Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani are tipped to be inducted in the new Union Cabinet led by PM Modi. The other key ally Janata Dal (United) is also expected to get two Cabinet berths. In addition to this, both the parties have claimed some junior ministerial posts also. Meanwhile, preparations are in full swing for the swearing-in ceremony in the evening today and several foreign delegates and special invitees have reached the national capital. Sri Lankan president Ranil Wickremesinghe, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda', Prime Minister of Nepal and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina would attend the swearing-in ceremony.
