BJP holds protest against 1975 Emergency in Srinagar

Srinagar, June 25 (Reporter) In Jammu and Kashmir, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) activists on Tuesday held a protest demonstration. They termed the day June 25, 1975, as ‘Black Day’ when an emergency was imposed in the country. The then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had imposed an emergency in the country on June 25, 1975, citing conspiracy against her. The BJP workers including women holding placards and banners took out a procession in Srinagar shouting slogans against the Congress party for the imposition of emergency in the country on this day in 1975. The demonstrators also termed the day as "murder of the democracy". On the 49th anniversary of the day, the J&K chapter of BJP staged a massive protest and termed June 25, 1975, a black day in the country's history, BJP spokesman Altaf Thakur said. “This day will go down as a black day in the history of the country,” Thakur said...////...
