Chandigarh, Sep 3 (Reporter) Calling the Congress as an anti-farmer party, former Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij said on Tuesday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government is giving Minimum Support Price (MSP) on the highest number of 24 crops, a record not matched by any other state. He criticised Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda saying that even when he was the Chief Minister he did nothing for farmers. In response to Dushyant Chautala's allegation that the BJP was struggling to identify a safe seat for Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Vij said the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) leader should focus on his party’s list and infighting rather than worrying about the ruling party. Responding to Rahul Gandhi's statement regarding mob lynching of Muslims under BJP's rule, Vij said that peace under Narendra Modi's governance across the country was unmatched. On the contrary, the entire country was engulfed in riots during the Congress era, he said. The BJP leader also dismissed allegations on attempts to change the Constitution under PM Modi. “Actually, it was Rahul Gandhi's grandmother who attempted to change the Constitution, not the BJP. She used Article 356 to dissolve state assemblies, whereas Narendra Modi has not done so,” he said. Ruling out any challenge from the Aam Aadmi Party in the October 5 Assembly election, Vij said it is an outfit that makes false promises. On AAP's claim that it will provide similar facilities in Haryana as its governments do in Delhi and Punjab, Vij said, “People of Delhi threw the AAP out from all seven Lok Sabha seats and, similarly, the AAP faced a severe setback in Punjab.
