New Delhi, July 10 (Reporter) Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, said on Wednesday that unemployment in the country has reached its peak and even children studying in prestigious institutions like the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) are not getting placements. On his Facebook wall, the former Congress president described this situation as a side effect of the economic recession and said that the continuous decline in placements in IITs and in annual packages are further hurting the condition of the youth facing extreme unemployment. In 2022, 19 per cent students could not get campus placement, and this year the same rate has doubled to 38 percent. He said, “When this is the condition of the most famous and respected educational institutions in the country, then what will be the condition of the other institutions. Today's youth is completely broken due to unemployment. First of all, there is no job, and even if they get a job there will not be an appropriate salary. Parents are spending lakhs to get their children into a professional course, and students are also forced to take loan at high interest rates. And then not getting a job, or getting a placement with a normal salary, is causing their financial condition to decline." The Congress leader said, “It is the result of the BJP's wrong policy and anti-education intentions that the future of the bright youth of this country is at stake. Does the Modi government have any plans to free the hardworking youth of India from this crisis? The opposition will continue to raise the voice of the youth with all its might and will keep the government accountable for the injustice being done against them...////...
