Srinagar, Dec 4 (Reporter) Amid Ajmer Sharif shrine row, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Iltija Mufti accused the BJP of exploiting religious sentiments for political gain. She alleged the BJP is not looking for a temple beneath the mosque, but they are using this issue to rally their vote bank under the guise of such claims. “ They (BJP) are not looking for a temple beneath the mosque, but they believe that they will gain their vote bank under the mosque. The PDP leader also raised concerns about the proposed railway line projects cutting through agricultural lands in South Kashmir, emphasizing that "connectivity should not come at the cost of livelihoods." She highlighted the potential adverse effects of these projects on both livelihoods and the environment. She pointed out that the proposed railway line in South Kashmir would pass through Bijbehara, Awantipora, and Pulwama, areas primarily dependent on agriculture. "Development should not come at the expense of people's livelihoods. The proposed railway line will cut through existing orchards, which are the primary source of sustainable income for many in the region," she said. "While we are not against development, we oppose any development that comes at the cost of ecology, environment, or the livelihoods of the local population...////...
