Assandh, Sep 26 (Reporter) Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Thursday attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Haryana government accusing them of destroying the employment system and stopping development in the state.
Addressing an election rally in Assandh, Gandhi said, “The Congress is going to sweep the Haryana election. Our Government will be for all. There will be respect for all and we all will work for a developed Haryana”.
“The BJP government has destroyed every section of Haryana. It has snatched the prosperity of youth, farmers and businessmen. Our promise is – we will bring prosperity back to Haryana, we will make Haryana prosperous again,” Gandhi said.
He said, “Narendra Modi and the Haryana government have destroyed the employment system. The mother of one of the youths who have gone to America says that she wants to meet her son. The whole family is worried. But those youth cannot come back as there is no employment here in Haryana.”
Targeting industrial Gautam Adani, the former Congress president said that while several of the country's ports, airports, roads were in the hands of Adani, the common man made to suffer due to wrong GST and demonetisation.
“This is so because the Modi government wants to eliminate small traders and sell Chinese goods in India. A few industrialists of the country and China are benefiting from this... Narendra Modi is being marketed, but the youth of Haryana are crying,” Gandhi said.
He said that the players of Haryana were working hard 24 hours a day to win medals so that the name of state and India is glorified across the world. But when something wrong happens to female players, then BJP is busy protecting the accused.
Gandhi said that the state was witnessing a rise in drug cases.
“Thousands of kilos of drugs were found at Adani's port in Gujarat, but it was never reported in the media and no one was punished,” Gandhi alleged.
He said that the most affected in the state were the farmers whose loans have not been waived off and neither were they given MSP. But, debt of Rs 16 lakh crore of a few billionaires of the country gets waived off.
