Chandigarh, Sep 27 (Reporter) Ahead of Panchayat elections in Punjab, speculations were rife that Sunil Jakhar has resigned from the State President post, even as the BJP on Friday denied the same.
Absence from a party meeting on Thursday gave rise to speculations about Jakhar's resignation and he was also unreachable.
Punjab BJP General Secretary Anil Sarin termed the reports as "completely baseless".
"Jakhar didn't attend yesterday's meeting as it was not mandatory for him." Sarin said.
He also denied that Jakhar was having differences with anyone in the state unit.
Meanwhile, Punjab Congress President Raja Amarinder Singh Warring reacted on Social Media by wishing Jakhar all the best and asked, "What next?"
Jakhar, who was Congress state president before joining BJP in 2022, was soon made the president
of the state unit of the party...////...
