New Delhi, Sep 26 (Reporter) Former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday attacked the Modi-led BJP government, claiming that the saffron outfit "conspired" to put him in jail to trouble the people of Delhi by halting development work and derailing the AAP dispensation. Addressing the Delhi Legislative Assembly for the first time since his resignation, Kejriwal said, “My colleagues in the opposition must be sad to see Manish Sisodia and me here. I always say PM Modi is very powerful and has a lot of money and resources, but Modi is not God. However, there is some power or God who is there with us.” Extending gratitude to the Supreme Court, Kejriwal said at least justice still exists in this country. “Today, I went for a road inspection with the Chief Minister. Delhi University's roads used to be in great condition before I went to jail, and I have asked her to pass an order to repair the roads there,” Kejriwal added. “I met a BJP leader 3-4 days ago and asked him whether arresting me gave him any benefit,” Kejriwal said, alleging that the BJP leader told him that by arresting him, the Delhi government had been derailed, and the city had come to a standstill.” “The people of Delhi have not been voting for the BJP for the last 27 years, and now they want to gain votes by harassing the people of Delhi,” Kejriwal said. "They tried to stop Delhi's progress by sending me to jail. Earlier in the day, Kejriwal and CM Atishi inspected a damaged road site in the capital. Kejriwal said now that he is out of jail all the pending work in Delhi will be complete. Sharing a video clip from the inspection on his ‘X’ handle (erstwhile Twitter), Kejriwal said, “They had stopped the work of Delhi by sending me to jail. Roads were also damaged. That was their purpose.” “Today I inspected a road in Delhi University with CM Atishi. This road will also be repaired soon, and the rest of the roads in Delhi will also be repaired soon. Now I am back, the people of Delhi should not worry. All the stopped work in Delhi will be done,” he added. “Today, I inspected the Vishwavidyalaya Marg road with Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia.
