Hamirpur, June 18 (Reporter) BJP candidate Ashish Sharma on Tuesday filed his nomination papers for the Hamirpur Assembly bypoll in Himachal Pradesh. The byelection is scheduled to be held on July 10 and the counting of votes will be taken up on July 13. Sharma had won the Hamirpur Assembly seat in 2022 as Independent by defeating BJP and Congress candidates in the election. Later, he had resigned as MLA and joined the BJP. Earlier, Sharma along with his wife offered puja in the historic temple of Lord Shiva at Gasota and sought the blessings of Babaji for his victory in the byelection. The BJP candidate claimed that his victory was certain as he had served the constituency to his best and would continue to serve the people. The BJP organized a rally at Gandhi chowk in which the party senior leaders participated and claimed that Sharma's victory was certain.
