Bihar assembly adjourned following ruckus of opposition on reservation issue

Patna, Mar 25 (Reporter) Bihar Assembly was adjourned till lunch after question hour following a ruckus created by the opposition led by RJD members on the issue of reservation on Tuesday. Soon after the question hour was over and Speaker Nand Kishor Yadav took up the Zero hour proceedings, the RJD members made noise about the issue. RJD MLA Akhtarul Islam Shaheen reading his adjournment motion notice with the permission of the Speaker, said that the reservation was increased up to 75 percent by the then Grand Alliance government following a caste survey report. He said that the centre deliberately ended it by not including it in the 9th schedule of the Indian Constitution. Intervening into the noise, Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary clarifying the situation said that the entire Bihar was aware that the decision to increase the reservation limit was taken by the NDA government led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and was finally executed under the same regime. Pointing towards the RJD MLAs who attended the house wearing green T-shirts ( similar to the colour of their party flag) with slogans "include Bihar's 65 percent reservation limit, increased under Tejashwi government in the 9th schedule" written on it, Chaudhary said that the RJD members were trying to mislead the people of Bihar by raising the issue of 9th schedule. He said that the high court repealed the law and the state government challenged it before the Supreme Court. He said the State Government would act as per the decision of the Supreme Court. Speaking about the cast survey, credit for which was being taken by the RJD, Chaudhary said that a decision for the caste survey was taken by the NDA government led by Nitish Kumar . He admitted that for a few months RJD was a part of the state government. Annoyed at it, the RJD members shouting slogans against the government trooped to the well. The zero hour proceeding was taken up amid noise of the opposition. The speaker repeatedly requested the members to resume their seats...////...
