Washington, May 2 (Reporter) US President Joe Biden's approval ratings have plummeted to an all-time low raising concern over his return for a second term.
According to recent polls conducted by Gallup, Biden's 13th quarter in office, spanning from January 20 to April 19, saw an average approval rating of just 38.7 per cent, the lowest recorded among recent US presidents.
This decline comes amid Biden's response to Israel's conflict in Gaza that has drawn widespread scrutiny, coinciding with a period of pro-Palestinian protests across the nation.
With just six months remaining before the November elections, Biden faces an uphill task to garner the support necessary for reelection.
Comparisons to past presidents by Gallup revealed the extent of Biden's challenge. His 13th-quarter average approval rating is starkly lower than that of former presidents, including Donald Trump, his presumptive Republican rival for the 2024 election.
Even Barack Obama maintained a higher approval rating at this stage.
Only a handful of presidents, including Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush, and Trump, have recorded below 50 percent average approval ratings in their 13th quarters, with most failing to secure reelection.
