Purulia, Apr 24 (Reporter) Jhalda town, an important commercial town of West Bengal's Purulia district, on Thursday wore a completely deserted look with shops and business establishments remaining shut in protest against the Pahalgam terror attack in which a local resident, IB officer Manish Ranjan Mishra, was martyred on Tuesday in Jammu & Kashmir. Mishra (42), who was posted in Hyderabad, had come to his ancestral home on vacation, and went to J & K along with his family members. He fell to the bullets in the terror incident in which some 25 travellers and a local small time businessman were gunned down by the terrorists, linked to Pakistan. He is survived by his wife and two children. His mortal remains are expected to be at his home shortly after being flown to Ranchi airport ( Jharkhand) from where his coffin would be brought by road, sources said. A dawn to dusk shutdown was called today by the netizens of Jhalda irrespective of any affiliation and the people responded positively to show off togetherness at the time of crisis, said one of the residents.
