Kolkata, Apr 5 (Reporter) Multi-tier security arrangements are being made across this metropolitan city and across West Bengal to ensure peace on the occasion of Ram Navami, the birth of the Lord Rama, on Sunday, official sources said on Saturday.
Kolkata Police Commissioner Manoj Verma had held several meetings with senior IPS officers, and DGP Rajiv Kumar demarcated 10 District Police Commissionrate and distributed jobs to 29 IPS officers to oversee the security arrangements to ensure peace and normalcy during the Ram Navami celebrations.
The Calcutta high court also allowed Anjani Putra Sena and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad to take out respective rallies in the sensitive abd highly populated Howrah after the police denied them permission to hold the rally.

Justice Tirthankar Ghosh on Friday allowed the organisation to conduct the rally along the initially planned route, subject to various conditions, including that the identity of the 500 proposed participants be intimated beforehand to the police.
The West Bengal police have deployed 29 senior officers to oversee 10 sensitive areas, including 6 police commissionerates and four district police areas: Howrah, Barrackpore, Chandannagar, Malda, Islampur, Asansol-Durgapur, Siliguri, Howrah rural, Murshidabad, and Coochbehar. Priority has been given to Howrah, which has experienced past incidents of violence, with six senior IPS officers assigned to supervise the district's law and order.
As many as 59 rallies from different organisations are expected to take out processions on Sunday, of then 5/6 are described as mega rallies.West Bengal BJP state president Sukanta Majumdar said lakhs of Hindu devotees take part in the processions across the state.
He urged the Police to ensure peace but not to prevent people from taking processions as the Rama is revered in Bengal from the ancient time and the same is the guardian deity in every household.Majumdar and Suvendu Adhikari would also take part in the rallies along with other BJP leaders.
Meanwhile, posters and festonns appeared in different avenues and markets with saffron flags flooding the picture of Lord Rama and Lord Hanuman.
