Kolkata, Apr 12 (Reporter) Leader of opposition Suvendu Adhikari on Saturday urged the Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government to seek Central assistance for deployment of paramilitary forces to contain violence in Murshidabad in protest against Waqf law. Condemning the incident of vandalism at the Jalangi BDO Office in Murshidabad, Adhikari on his X handle post said, 'The radical elements carried out the attacks on Friday masquerading as protestors against the Anti-Waqf law. Let it be known that this was not an act of protest, rather a premeditated act of violence, an assault on democracy and governance by Jihadist forces who seek to spread chaos in order to assert their dominance and sow fear amongst other communities of our society." If the state govt is incapable of doing it, then kindly seek the assistance of the Central government," the BJP leader suggested. Adhikari also displayed a purported video clip on his X handle as a group of people was pelting with stones and vandalising the BDO office on Friday. Union minister Sukanta Majumdar in a separate post on his X handle said, " The so called messengers of peace — nurtured under the banner of minority appeasement — have unleashed utter chaos In Jalangi, Murshidabad. Vehicles were torched, and a full BDO office was reduced to rubble by the attackers." ' This is not just administrative failure — this is what happens when governance is sacrificed at the altar of vote-bank politics. Offices are unsafe. Life itself is at risk, " Majumdar, also the state BJP president, claimed. He also accused the regime of shielding the chaos in the name of secularism...////...
