Bengal celebrates 127th birth anniversary of Netaji, Mamata pays tribute

Kolkata, Jan 23 (Reporter) West Bengal on Tuesday celebrated the 127th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose with traditional enthusiasm. At a main function, sponsored by the state government, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee paid floral tribute at the life-sized statue to the patriot at Red Road. " As we celebrate the 127th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, my heart swells with deep admiration for a true hero who, for me, has been a perennial source of inspiration. His courage, vision and love for the motherland has stirred profound emotions within me," Banerjee said. " Netaji's spirit transcends time and continues to live on in each heartbeat of free India. Today, let us connect with the essence of his journey and feel the pulse of his sacrifices. As we stand on the shoulders of this giant, let us pledge to carry forward his vision and legacy," the Chief Minister said. Leader of the opposition Suvendu Adhikari while paying tribute to Netaji said " I bow down to pay my respects to the Greatest Freedom Fighter & National Hero of Bharat; Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his 127th Birth Anniversary." He also led a march (parade) on the Red Road in the city to pay his tributes.
