The state cabinet, chaired by the Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav at Mantralaya here today, gave approval for ensuring benefit of insurance cover of Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana to Anganwadi workers, Mini Anganwadi workers, and Sahayikas as per their eligibility under the Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 scheme. Following the decisioin, an amount of Rs 3 crore 63 lakh will be spent every year in the financial year 2024-25 and 2025-2026 respectively as central share and Rs 2 crore 42 lakh as state share respectively for the operation of schemes ensuring security cover to Anganwadi workers, mini Anganwadi workers, and Sahayikas. A total of Rs 12 crore 10 lakh was approved for 2 financial years.
