Vienna, Dec 5 (Reporter) Vienna District Court has ruled to deny extradition of Ukrainian billionaire Dmytro Firtash to the United States, Austrian media reported.
A state prosecutor has said that he will appeal the court's decision, the ORF broadcaster reported on Wednesday.
In 2014, the billionaire was arrested in Austria at the request of the FBI after he was accused of corruption related to the development of titanium deposits in India. Firtash was then released on bail of 125 million euros ($131.4 million), which was a record bail amount in the history of Austria.
In June 2021, the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council imposed sanctions on Firtash over his alleged involvement in the supply of raw materials, namely titanium, to Russian military enterprises. The Ukrainian businessman denied the charges...////...
