New Delhi, Aug 12 (Reporter) Delhi Education Minister Atishi on Monday directed all Deputy Directorates of Education to inspect at least 5 schools in their district every week and ensure the availability of basic facilities such as drinking water and toilets at school.
During school inspection, Atishi ordered disciplinary action against the principal Sarvodaya Vidyalaya J&K Block after students were found sitting on the floor.
“Providing better facilities and education to the children studying in Delhi government schools has been our priority. In such a situation, any kind of negligence in this will not be tolerated,” Education Minister Atishi said.
She has also instructed the Deputy Directorates of Education (DDEs, District) mandated weekly inspections of at least 5 schools in their district across Delhi, demanding accountability and swift weekly reports from officials.
All DDEs (District) have been instructed to take special care of basic facilities in the school such as availability of drinking water, toilets, lights, cleanliness, availability of good quality desks in sufficient quantity, school infrastructure (doors, windows, boundary walls, room ceilings), safety-security of children, student-classroom ratio, etc.
They were instructed to take immediate action if any kind of problem is found in the school during inspection.
Along with this, instructions have also been given to ensure that such a situation does not arise again in future, if it is found again in any school that despite having desks, children are made to sit on the floor, then strict action will be taken in this situation...////...
