Kinshasa, Feb 27 (Reporter) At least five were killed by several explosions on Thursday at Independence Square in Bukavu, eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), shortly after a political rally in support of the rebel March 23 Movement (M23). The blasts occurred shortly after the rally, where Corneille Nangaa, the political leader of the Congo River Alliance, a politico-military group allied to the M23, spoke, according to reports. Sources at the Bukavu General Reference Hospital said five people were killed and six injured, with the casualty count likely to increase. M23 blamed the explosions on the DRC government, without providing further details. Nangaa said that he and other senior members of the rebel group at the rally were not wounded.
