At least 49 killed in rain-related incidents in UP

Lucknow, May 23 (Reporter) At least 49 people have died in storm and rain-related incidents, while many others have been injured in the last 48 hours in Uttar Pradesh, official sources said here on Friday. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has predicted that the storm and rain will continue for the next two days. However, this weather condition is expected to remain till May 29. According to the department, strong storms with a speed of 40 to 60 km per hour are expected in eastern UP. There are chances of lightning and rain during this period. The general public is advised not to stand under a tree or in the open in case of thunder and lightning. According to the information received from the Relief Commissioner's Office, 49 people have died untimely in incidents of storm and lightning in 21 districts between 8 pm on May 21 and 4 pm on May 22. During this period, two persons have died in Ghaziabad, four in Meerut, three in Bulandshahr, four in Auraiya, five each in Kasganj and Fatehpur, three each in Gautam Buddha Nagar, Kanpur Nagar, Etah and Kannauj, two each in Firozabad and Kanpur Dehat and one each in Aligarh, Hathras, Chitrakoot, Ambedkar Nagar, Amethi, Ayodhya, Azamgarh and Unnao...////...
