Ashoka University launches Isaac Centre for Public Policy

Bengaluru, Sept 22 (Reporter) Ashoka University has announced the launch of the Isaac Centre for Public Policy (ICPP), established through a substantial grant from the Ajit Isaac Foundation (AIF). The Centre will focus on interdisciplinary research and public policy programmes aimed at driving inclusive and sustainable growth, contributing to India’s goal of becoming a $10 trillion economy by 2035. The foundation, led by Ajit Isaac, Founder and Chairman of Quess Corp Ltd., and his wife Sarah Isaac, provided the grant, Both Ajit and Sarah are among the founders and trustees of the university. "Ashoka University was built on the idea of using philanthropic capital to create large-scale social impact, and this Centre aligns perfectly with that mission," said Sarah Isaac on Saturday. "We are excited to partner with Ashoka to generate ideas that promote inclusive and sustainable growth through public policy." The Isaac Centre for Public Policy will address policy challenges in areas such as economic development, labour, healthcare, and fiscal policy. It aims to collaborate with public, private, and non-profit stakeholders to identify gaps in policy-making and implementation. By leveraging the expertise of Ashoka's faculty, the Centre will produce research aimed at informing effective policies. Prachi Mishra, Director of the Isaac Centre and Professor of Economics at Ashoka University, will lead the Centre. Prachi is a former advisor at the IMF and India's Ministry of Finance The Centre will offer undergraduate, graduate, and executive-level public policy programmes, including specialised courses for professionals from both the public and private sectors.
