On the first Monday of the holy month of Sawan, Lord Shri Mahakaleshwar embarked on his grand city tour in Ujjain in the divine form of Manmahesh. The procession began with the traditional Shodashopachara worship and aarti performed at the Sabha Mandap within the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple complex.
In accordance with the vision of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, tribal cultural troupes participated in the procession with captivating performances ahead of the palki, adding a vibrant folk dimension to the sacred event. Vedic chants echoed as the first Sawan-Bhado procession of Shri Mahakal was welcomed with deep devotion. More than 5 lakh devotees participated in the procession.
Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat, Panchayat, Rural Development and Labour Minister Shri Prahlad Patel, Revenue Minister Shri Karan Singh Verma, Forest & Environment Minister Shri Dilip Ahirwar and Ujjain In-charge Minister Shri Gautam Tetwal performed worship and aarti. Other dignitaries present included MLAs Shri Satish Malviya, Shri Mahesh Parmar and Shri Jitendra Pandya, Municipal Corporation Chairperson Smt. Kalavati Yadav, Divisional Commissioner Shri Sanjay Gupta and several senior officials offered prayers to Lord Shri Manmahesh.
Seated in a beautifully decorated palki, Avantikanath Lord ShriMahakal ventured out among his people to bless them and observe the city. As the palki reached the temple’s main gate, an armed police contingent offered a ceremonial Guard of Honour to Lord ShriManmahesh.
