Army rescues stranded tourists heavy snowfall in Gulmarg

Srinagar, Dec 28 (Reporter) Indian Army said that they evacuated tourists stranded in the ski resort of Gulmarg in Baramulla district due to heavy snowfall that began on Friday afternoon. The Army responded promptly to a distress call from the civil administration. In a swift and coordinated effort, the Army later evacuated 68 civilians, including 30 women, 30 men, and 8 children. Additionally, the Army extended critical support to 137 tourists by providing hot meals, shelter, and medical assistance to ensure their safety and comfort during the ordeal. “Chinar Warriors responded to a distress call from civil administration to evacuate tourists stranded due to unprecedented heavy snowfall in tourist destination of Gulmarg and the subsequent closure of the road to Tangmarg" Srinagar based Chinar Corps said in a post on X.
