Kadapa, May 28 (Reporter) Telugu Desam party national president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has recalled that NT Rama Rao, the founder of TDP, had brought recognition to Telugu people in the country and upheld their self-respect.
The second day sessions of the three-day annual conclave ‘Mahanadu’ of the TDP began here on Wednesday. Chandrababu Naidu and other senior leaders paid rich tributes to TDP founder and former Chief Minister N T Rama Rao on the occasion of his 102 nd birth anniversary by garlanding the statue.
Speaking on the occasion, Chandrababu Naidu said that NTR birth anniversary is a festival for all Telugu people and pledged to realize his dream of a poverty-free society. Mr.Naidu highlighted that despite hardships, NTR built his life on self-discipline, integrity, and perseverance adding that NTR’s life was a source of inspiration and continues to instill confidence in generations of Telugu people.
“NTR meant assurance to the poor, friendship to farmers, courage to the distressed, and support to women and workers,” the Chief Minister acknowledged, stating that NT Rama Rao entered politics not for power, but to repay the people who made him a star.
“N T Rama Rao replaced dynastic politics and corruption with a clean, welfare-oriented alternative and famously said: “Power is responsibility, not privilege,” Chandrababu Naidu reminded.
NTR also introduced landmark reforms like abolishing the Patel–Patwari system, launching the Single Window policy and introducing reservations for the BCs and women in local bodies, Naidu mentioned. As TDP completes 43 years since its founding on March 29, 1982, Naidu affirmed the party’s renewed commitment to NTR’s ideals. “With the 2024 people’s mandate, we are moving from destruction to development,” he asserted.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu concluded his speech with a powerful pledge: “Our movement to eradicate poverty and reduce inequality will be our true tribute to NTR. The Six Guarantees and My Telugu Family initiatives will be game-changers. With NTR’s blessings, by 2047, Telugu people will shine on the world stage.”
