Visakhapatnam, Oct 19 (Reporter) The sleuths of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids on the properties of former YSR Congress party MP and Telugu film producer MVV Satyanarayana here on Saturday in connection with a money laundering probe linked to a land-grabbing case.
The searches were conducted at five locations, including the residences and offices of Satyanarayana, his auditor, and another accused in this case, according to ED Sources here.
Based on an Enforcing Case Information Report (ECIR) filled following an FIR lodged by Arilova Police, which comes under the Visakhapatnam Police Commissionerate, the searchers were conducted on the residence and offices of Satyanarayana, who obtained anticipatory bail from the Andhra Pradesh High Court in a local police case involving charges of criminal conspiracy, cheating, and forgery.
The case was registered based on a complaint filed by one real estate firm stating that a former YSRCP MP and others attempted to grab land allotted to it by the government for the construction of an old home using forged documents.
Satyanaryana, who was in the real estate business for the last 25 years, took up several ventures in and around Visakhapatnam and other places.
Well-known in the Tollywood industry, Satyanarayana, who established MVV creations, has produced films like Geethanjali, Abhinetri, and Luck Unnodu.
Entered in politics in 2019, he joined the YSR Congress party and won the MP Elections from Visakhapatnam parliamentary constituency...////...
