Mulapadu, (AP), Dec 13 (Reporter) Anvay Dravid, the son of cricket legend Rahul Dravid, showcased his burgeoning talent with an impressive unbeaten century during Karnataka’s Vijay Merchant Trophy match against Jharkhand here on Friday. The game, played at Mulapadu, ended in a draw, with Karnataka claiming first-innings honours. Batting at number four, Anvay scored a flawless 100 off 153 balls, decorated with ten boundaries and two sixes. His stellar knock was the backbone of Karnataka's innings, which culminated in a declaration at 441 for 4 in 123.3 overs. Anvay anchored two crucial partnerships during his innings. He stitched a 167-run stand with Syaamantak Anirudh, who contributed a valuable 76, and later added 43 runs with J Sukurth (33) for the fourth wicket. Earlier in the match, Jharkhand had posted a formidable total of 387 in their first innings, spanning 128.4 overs. However, Karnataka’s batting response ensured they secured three points from the draw, courtesy of a first-innings lead, while Jharkhand earned a solitary point. This performance adds to Anvay’s growing list of achievements. The 14-year-old prodigy, who captained the Karnataka Under-14 team last year, recently smashed an unbeaten double century for Bangalore Zone in a KSCA Under-16 Inter-Zonal match against Tumkur Zone. Anvay’s elder brother, Samit Dravid, is also making waves in cricket. The 19-year-old all-rounder represented India in the Under-19 series against Australia earlier this year and played for Mysuru Warriors in the Maharaja T20 Trophy before his national selection. With such performances, the Dravid brothers are carving their own legacy in the cricketing world, carrying forward the illustrious family tradition...////...
