Another murder case against Hasina, former Chief Justice of Bangladesh

Dhaka, Aug 21 (Reporter) Ousted Bangladeshi PM Sheikh Hasina along with former chief Justice ABM Khairul Haque and three others were named in a murder case on Wednesday, sources said. Reshma Sultana, Widow of deceased Firoz Talukdar, office assistant at Rangpur Chemical Ltd, who was shot from a helicopter during the quota reform protest and clashes in Mirpur area of Dhaka, registered the case in the Dhaka Metropolitan court. The complaint accused Hasina, the former Chief Justice, former home minister and erstwhile ruling part Awami League general secretary Obaidul Qader, reported The Daily Star. Judge Mehedi Hasan heard the matter, recorded the complainant's statement and asked the officer-in-charge of the Model police station of Mirpur to register the first information report (FIR). Reshma in her complaint said her husband was shot dead on July 19 at the Mirpur 10 intersection by Rapid Action Battalion force's firing from helicopter. She further named Hasina and other prime accused and tagged them as masterminds of the incident. So far 32 cases - out of which 27 are murder cases, four cases for crime against humanity and genocide and one for kidnapping have been registered against the former PM, who resigned and fled to India on August 5 following the student-led uprising...////...
