Amritsar, Dec 17 (Reporter) A massive explosion sound was heard near Amritsar's Islamabad Police Station in the early hours of Tuesday, causing panic among locals. Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar confirmed that locals heard an explosion in the police station, but no damage was caused. Meanwhile, Germany-based gangster Jeevan Fauji claimed responsibility for the blast. Officials said that further investigation is underway in the case. Earlier on December 4, a 'blast' occurred at around 10 pm at the Majitha police station in Amritsar. Recently, a powerful explosive device (IED) was also recovered outside Ajnala police station, and an explosion also took place inside Gurbaksh Nagar police post of Amritsar Police Commissionerate. Bullar denied claims of a blast and said all senior police officers visited the spot.
