Amarnath Yatra: Fresh batch of pilgrims leave from Jammu base camp

Jammu, July 14 (Reporter) A fresh batch of more than 6000 Shri Amarnath Yatra pilgrims left for the holy cave amid the chants of 'Bam Bam Bhole' from Bhagwati Nagar based Yatri Niwas. Officials said that the pilgrims left from the Jammu base camp in a fleet of 235 vehicles. “A fresh batch of 6143 pilgrims this morning left for Shri Amarnath Yatra cave shrine in Kashmir from Jammu base camp amid tight security arrangements,” they added. They said that 3928 pilgrims left for Pahalgam and 2215 for Baltal in a fleet of 235 vehicles comprising Light Motor Vehicles and Heavy Motor Vehicles. The yatra crossed two lakh mark yesterday. The 38-day annual pilgrimage started from both the routes on July 2 with flagging off of the first batch from here by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. The yatra will end on August 9.
