Srinagar, Aug 19 (Reporter) The 52-day-long Amarnath Yatra concluded after the ‘Charri Mubarak’ the silver mace of Lord Shiva reached the holy cave Shrine of Amarnath where traditional prayers were held on the occasion of ‘Sharavan Purnima’, amid Vedic hymns on Monday.
The “Chhari Mubarak”, depicting-one Lord Shiva and another Goddess Parvati, led by Mahant Deependra Giri and a group of Sadhus reached the Cave shrine at the height of 12,756 ft above sea level this afternoon from Panchtarni and prayers were held amid religious fervour and Vedic hymns.
Special prayers were held for the peace, progress and stability of the country and Jammu and Kashmir.
The Amarnath Yatra began on June 29 from the twin routes of Baltal in Ganderbal and NunWan Pahalgam in Anantnag district culminating on Monday on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, the day being celebrated today across the country.
