Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that to provide better facilities to citizens and strengthen the state's economy, the development process for the proposed Bhopal-Indore metropolitan areas must be expedited, with a comprehensive action plan focused on harnessing economic growth opportunities. He highlighted the need for special attention to ensuring a smooth and efficient traffic system in both metropolitan regions. Dr. Yadav directed that all agencies involved in the project should work in close coordination to prepare a detailed and integrated action plan.The Chief Minister made these remarks while addressing a meeting on the formation of the proposed metropolitan areas at Samatva Bhavan (Chief Minister’s residence). State Urban Development Minister Smt. Pratima Bagri, Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Dr. Rajesh Rajoura, and other senior officials were present at the meeting.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the planned development of land within the metropolitan areas must be ensured. He urged that efforts to attract investors should begin immediately to boost industrial and business activities in the region. Dr. Yadav stressed that future planning should prioritize the development of economic corridors, as well as road and rail transport infrastructure. He directed officials to complete all related processes within a fixed timeframe to ensure timely execution.
