Srinagar, Sep 16 (Reporter) Peoples Conference Chairman Sajad Lone on Monday alleged that some unknown agencies were pressuring them to allow “safe passage” to a person in one of the Kupwara Assembly constituencies. Sajad alleged that “a very bad Delhi plan is being executed in Kashmir valley”. “(There is some) governmental or non-governmental force who (is) directly or indirectly pressuriising me and our party workers to give safe passage to someone from the Kupwara assembly constituency”, PC Chairman Lone told media persons in Handwara. “Let the sky fall down on earth..that will not happen. They should stop wasting their time and nothing will happen. We are not cowards nor afraid of anything. Nobody would be provided safe passage. Let them open old cases against us, it is their choice if there is any case against us,” he added. Without naming anyone he alleged that warnings and threats were being issued to them directly and indirectly, and said this should stop. He ruled out giving safe passage to anyone from the Kupwara segment. “I appeal to the central government and the Jammu and Kashmir administration to remember and not to repeat the 1987 election here again and don’t try to repeat that here”, he warned. He said “One of the biggest tragedies will be if you will directly or indirectly, certainly, actively or passively repeat 1987 like elections in Kashmir”.
