Chennai, Sep 20 )UNI) After being bowled out for 376, resuming at 339 for six, India piled on the agony on Bangladesh reducing them to 26 for three at lunch on the second day of the first cricket test here on Friday.
As the wicket still assists the pacers, India's Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Deep claimed all the three wickets to fall.
Earlier, resuming at 339 for six, Bangladesh straight away took the second new ball and it paid rich dividends. Speedster Taskin Ahmed got rid of overnight batsman Ravindra Jadeja, who edged to keeper Litton doss without adding to his last night score of 86.
Akash Deep hit four sweetly timed boundaries that made the top order batsmen take notice before going for a wild slog and holed out at mid off of Taskin.
Centurion R Ashwin fell for 113, adding 11 to his overnight score, as India were all out for 376 in
91.2 overs.
Taskin Ahmed picked up three of the remaining four wickets, and Hasan Mahmud, who rattled the
Indian top order yesterday, finished with a five wicket haul, as India just managed to add 37 runs into the second morning in 11.2 overs before being all out.
Bangladesh too started its innings losing the top order tamely.
India pacers Bumrah, Mohd Siraj and Akash Deep tested them in the nine overs before lunch
making use of the helpful conditions. Jasprit Bumrah struck the top of off in the first over, and
Akash Deep narrowly missed out on a hat-trick in the last over before lunch and finished
with two wickets, when the players went for lunch.
Bangladesh lost Shadam Islam (2) when he was castled by Bumrah in the last ball of the first over before Akash Deep struck twice off successive balls removing Zakir Hasan (3) and Mominul Haque (0) as Bangladesh struggled to 26 for three at the break.
After resumption, Bangladesh lost two more wickets for 14 runs and ere reduced to 40 for five before the experienced Shakib Al Hasan and Litton Das came together to repair the damage.
After lunch, skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto (20, 3x4) was removed by Mohd Siraj and Bumrah accounted for Mushfir Rahim (8)...////...
